1. Parties, Purpose, and Key Definitions
1.1 Parties. These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the relationship between:
(a) Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC d/b/a Travel with Makini (“Travel with Makini,” “Travel Advisor,” “we,” “us”), and
(b) you, the purchaser of travel advisory/booking services and/or lead traveler (“Client,” “you”).
1.2 Purpose. This Agreement explains how our services work, what we do (and do not) provide, and important policies related to bookings, payments, cancellations, and travel risk.
1.3 Definitions.
- “Suppliers” means airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, car rental companies, insurance providers, and any other third-party travel providers.
- “Fora” means Fora Travel, Inc., our host agency and technology provider.
- “Trip” means any travel arrangements planned and/or booked through Travel with Makini.
2. Fora Relationship and Waiver of Claims Against Fora
2.1 Independent Travel Advisor. Travel with Makini is an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora. We operate our own separate travel business. Client understands and agrees that:
(a) Travel with Makini is not an agent, representative, or employee of Fora;
(b) Fora is a technology provider and host agency, not a travel service provider;
(c) Client will have no claim against (nor will Client file any claim against) Fora for losses or damages resulting or arising from the provision of services by Travel with Makini; and
(d) notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Agreement or otherwise, Fora is not a party to this Agreement for any purpose.
2.2 Waiver of Claims. Client expressly waives any claims, demands, or causes of action against Fora arising from or relating to any travel arrangements, advisor services, cancellations, disputes, or any other matters related to this Agreement.
2.3 Fora and Supplier Terms Also Apply. Certain bookings, payments, and services are processed through Fora systems and/or subject to Supplier rules. Where applicable, Supplier terms and any Fora platform/payment terms provided to you apply in addition to this Agreement. If any Supplier terms conflict with this Agreement, Supplier terms control for that Supplier service. Nothing in this Agreement expands Fora’s obligations to Client.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Booking Agent; Not the Service Provider. Travel with Makini provides travel advisory and booking coordination as a booking agent, not as the provider of travel services.
3.2 Services May Include.
- Consultation and trip planning guidance
- Research and itinerary planning
- Booking coordination for accommodations, transportation, tours/activities, cruises, and related services
- Communication support before/during/after travel within reasonable business hours
- Guidance on travel documentation requirements and sharing Supplier-provided confirmations and itineraries
3.3 What We Do Not Do. We do not control Suppliers, guarantee Supplier performance, or prepare legal documents or official government documentation.
4. Communication and Working Hours
4.1 Standard Hours. Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time, excluding holidays.
4.2 Response Times. Non-urgent inquiries may take 24–48 business hours.
4.3 Urgent Matters. An emergency contact protocol may be provided separately for travelers with imminent travel.
4.4 Excessive Communication. Excessive frequency or after-hours demands may result in additional service fees (see Section 7).
5. Traveler Information, Documents, and Special Needs
5.1 Accuracy of Information. You are responsible for providing complete and accurate traveler information for all travelers in your party (legal names, dates of birth, passport details, contact info, citizenship, known conditions affecting travel, and any special needs). Inaccurate information can result in denied boarding/entry or other disruptions for which we are not responsible.
5.2 Review of Documents. You must review all itineraries, confirmations, and travel documents promptly and notify us of any errors within 24 hours of receipt. Names on documents must match government-issued ID (including middle names/suffixes).
5.3 Passports/Visas/Health Requirements. You are responsible for obtaining required passports, visas, vaccination records, and other entry documents. Many destinations require passports valid at least six months beyond travel dates.
5.4 Special Needs Travelers. If any traveler has disabilities, mobility limitations, medical needs, allergies, or special assistance requirements, you must disclose them at the time of planning/booking. Suppliers are solely responsible for fulfilling accessibility or assistance requests—even if confirmed in writing—and we cannot guarantee delivery.
6. Advisor Role; Suppliers and Third Parties; Technology
6.1 Supplier Responsibility. Suppliers are solely responsible for providing the travel services purchased. We are not responsible for Supplier acts or omissions, including schedule changes, service failures, refunds/credits, or insolvency.
6.2 No Guarantees. We do not guarantee rates, availability, special requests, or Supplier quality/safety. Quotes are not guaranteed until booked and paid as required.
6.3 Technology Platforms. We use third-party booking tools and platforms (including those operated by Fora and/or Suppliers). Technical errors, outages, or pricing/availability glitches are beyond our control and are not binding until confirmed.
7. Fees and Service Packages
7.1 Planning/Service Fees. We may charge a planning or service fee depending on the service level and complexity. All service fees are non-refundable once paid because they compensate for time and professional services, regardless of whether you ultimately travel.
7.2 Current Service Options (Unless Otherwise Agreed in Writing).
(a) Let’s Go Package – Complimentary
- Consultation call
- Personalized proposal with accommodation options and applicable perks
- Booking/management of essential trip components (e.g., hotel/cruise and transfers as applicable)
(b) Full Itinerary Package – Starting at $299
- Consultation call
- Custom day-by-day itinerary planning tailored to travel style and needs (including sensory-friendly considerations when requested)
- Up to two rounds of revisions to proposals
- Booking and management of accommodations, tours, transportation, and activities as requested
- The service fee must be paid in full before detailed planning begins
(c) Bespoke Travel & Group Bookings
- Fees determined by complexity/size; disclosed and agreed in writing before planning begins
- Non-refundable deposits may be required
7.3 Additional Service Fees. Additional work beyond the agreed scope may be billed at $100 per hour, prorated in 15-minute increments (e.g., major itinerary changes after finalization, after-hours emergency assistance, expedited requests within 30 days of departure, or extraordinary requests). We will notify you before incurring additional fees when reasonably possible.
8. Quotes, Pricing, Currency, and Price Changes
8.1 Dynamic Pricing. Travel pricing changes frequently based on demand/availability. Prices cannot be guaranteed until booked and paid per Supplier rules.
8.2 Currency Fluctuations. Currency fluctuations and bank fees may affect final amounts.
8.3 Price Drops. We do not monitor post-booking price drops. If a Supplier drops a price after booking, we may attempt to rebook where permitted, but outcomes are not guaranteed and additional fees may apply.
8.4 Price Increases. Some Suppliers may increase prices due to fees, surcharges, taxes, or currency changes (including after deposit). You are responsible for increases required to retain reservations.
9. Payments, Authorization, and Stored Payment Methods
9.1 Payment Responsibility. You agree to pay for travel services promptly when due, either directly to the Supplier or through Fora systems when directed for Supplier payment processing.
9.2 Deposits and Final Payments. You are responsible for meeting Supplier payment deadlines. Missed deadlines may result in cancellation and penalties.
9.3 Payment Authorization. By providing payment information, you authorize charges for agreed fees, deposits, final payments, changes, and approved add-ons when due.
9.4 Stored Payment Information. Payment information may be stored securely via encrypted systems managed by Fora and not on our personal systems. Access to stored payment information is limited to authorized uses for bookings at your direction. You may request removal of stored payment information by contacting vault@foratravel.com.
9.5 Security. We will not request full card details via email/text. If you share payment authorization documents, you agree to use password protection and share passwords separately.
10. Changes, Cancellations, Refunds, and Trip Interruptions
10.1 Supplier Policies Control. All bookings are subject to Supplier deposit, change, cancellation, and refund policies, which may be strict and/or non-refundable. You agree to those Supplier terms when you authorize booking/payment.
10.2 Change Requests. All change requests must be submitted in writing to makini.bridgewater@fora.travel with sufficient advance notice. Changes may be unavailable or costly, especially for non-refundable fares.
10.3 Client-Initiated Cancellations. Cancellations are governed by Supplier policies and may result in partial or total loss of funds. Our service fees remain non-refundable.
10.4 Provider Cancellations. If a Supplier cancels, we will assist you in seeking the Supplier’s available remedy (refund/credit/reaccommodation), but we cannot guarantee outcomes.
10.5 Timing of Refunds. Supplier refunds (when applicable) may take 60–90 days or longer.
10.6 Trip Interruptions. During travel, we may assist remotely during business hours. We do not provide guaranteed 24/7 emergency services. You may need to make on-the-spot decisions and payments; travel insurance is strongly recommended.
11. Travel Insurance
11.1 Strong Recommendation. Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all trips to protect against cancellation, interruption, delays, medical emergencies, evacuation, and baggage issues.
11.2 If You Decline Insurance. If you decline recommended insurance coverage or fail to purchase coverage after being advised, you assume all financial risks that insurance may otherwise cover, including supplier bankruptcy/default and force majeure events.
11.3 Insurance Policies. If you purchase insurance, you are responsible for reviewing coverage, exclusions, and claim procedures. We can provide reasonable assistance with insurer communications but cannot guarantee claim outcomes.
12. Credit Cards, Disputes, and Chargebacks
12.1 First Contact Us. If you have a billing concern, you agree to contact us first at makini.bridgewater@fora.travel and allow a reasonable opportunity to assist with resolution.
12.2 Merchant Names. Charges may appear as “Fora,” a Supplier name, or another booking platform name depending on merchant of record. You agree not to dispute charges solely because you do not recognize the merchant name if you were informed of the charging entity.
12.3 Chargebacks. You agree not to file a dispute or chargeback to avoid or violate disclosed booking terms (including cancellations/changes beyond our control) unless the product/services were never provided or were grossly misrepresented. If you initiate a chargeback without first attempting resolution with us, you are responsible for reasonable administrative costs and fees incurred in responding.
12.4 Records. We maintain transaction and communication records and will provide them to banks/card issuers in the event of a dispute.
13. Travel Risks; Release; Indemnity; Force Majeure
13.1 Assumption of Risk. Travel involves risks (including illness, accidents, civil unrest, weather disruptions, terrorism, strikes, supplier failures, and government actions). By proceeding, you knowingly assume these risks.
13.2 Release; Indemnity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Travel with Makini, Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC, Fora, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from or related to travel arrangements and Supplier services, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct (if applicable under law).
13.3 Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any recovery from Travel with Makini/Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC is limited to the amount of commission and service fees actually received by us for the booking at issue. We disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
13.4 Force Majeure. Neither party is responsible for failure or delay due to causes beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, disasters, pandemics, war/terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, supplier insolvency, transportation disruptions, or system failures. Supplier policies control refunds/credits. We recommend insurance that covers these risks.
14. Client Conduct, Reservation Rule Violations, and Fraud Prevention
14.1 Respectful Conduct. You agree to be respectful and not abusive or threatening to us or Suppliers. We may terminate services for abusive behavior, nonpayment, or repeated noncompliance with this Agreement.
14.2 Reservation Rule Violations. You agree not to use “hidden-city,” “back-to-back,” or “point-beyond” ticketing. Violations can result in cancellations/penalties and are solely your responsibility.
14.3 Verification/Fraud Prevention. Certain patterns may require additional verification (e.g., last-minute bookings, multiple payment attempts, third-party bookings, refund-to-different-method requests). You agree to cooperate with reasonable verification steps. We may decline bookings that cannot be verified.
15. Privacy, Data Use, and Marketing/Photo Release
15.1 Data Use. We share personal information only as necessary with Fora and relevant Suppliers to fulfill services. We cannot control how Suppliers handle data once shared.
15.2 Accuracy. You warrant that the personal information provided is accurate and that you have authority to provide information for other travelers in your party.
15.3 Marketing/Photo Release (Optional). Unless you opt out in writing at the time of booking, you grant permission for Travel with Makini to use photos/videos/testimonials from your trip for marketing (including social media and website) without compensation. Opt-out does not apply to content you publicly post and tag/mention us; you permit us to reshare such public tagged content.
16. Intellectual Property
All itineraries, destination guides, proposals, and planning documents created by Travel with Makini remain our intellectual property and are for your personal use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or share them with other advisors or use them to compete with our services.
17. Disputes, Governing Law, Venue, and Class Action Waiver
17.1 Good-Faith Resolution. The parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through direct communication first.
17.2 Mediation. If unresolved, the parties agree to attempt mediation before litigation, unless emergency relief is needed.
17.3 Governing Law. Florida law governs this Agreement (without regard to conflict-of-law principles).
17.4 Venue/Jurisdiction. Any legal action must be brought in state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
17.5 Class Action Waiver. You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action.
17.6 Time Limit for Claims. Any claim against Travel with Makini/Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC must be brought within 12 months after completion of the Trip.
18. Special Booking Terms: Groups & Events; Theme Parks; Cruises
18.A Groups and Special Events (Non-Cruise)
A1. Definition. A group booking is generally 5+ rooms/cabins or 10+ travelers for the same dates/destination. Special events include destination weddings, reunions, corporate events, and celebration travel.
A2. Group Coordinator. One primary contact must be designated as decision-maker and communication lead.
A3. Rooming List and Deadlines. Accurate guest info must be provided by deadlines; missed deadlines can cause cancellations and penalties.
A4. Payment Terms. Group schedules are strict; attrition clauses and minimums may apply. The coordinator may be financially responsible for shortfalls where contracted.
A5. Changes/Cancellations. Individual cancellations may affect group pricing/benefits. Change fees and stricter cancellation rules often apply.
A6. Third-Party Vendors. Separate vendor contracts (photographers, officiants, entertainment) are your responsibility. Event insurance is recommended.
18.B Theme Parks (Disney, Universal and Similar Destinations)
B1. Scope. Theme park vacation planning may include resort and ticket booking guidance, dining assistance where available, and itinerary optimization.
B2. Reservations and Capacity. Many parks require separate park reservations in addition to tickets; capacity limits apply. Tickets do not guarantee entry on peak days.
B3. Booking Windows. Dining and special experiences may open at specific times (often 60 days prior) and can sell out quickly. We can advise, but cannot guarantee success.
B4. Package Limits. Many package components (tickets, resorts, add-ons) may be non-changeable/non-refundable and may require cancellation/rebooking.
B5. Theme Park Cancellations. Special event tickets are often non-refundable. Dining reservations may have short cancellation windows and fees.
B6. Operational Changes. Park hours, attractions, entertainment, and policies may change without notice and are not grounds for compensation from us.
18.C Cruises and Group Cruises
C1. Cruise Line Terms Control. Cruise line terms, sailing rules, and package-specific policies supersede any conflicting terms here.
C2. Deposits/Final Payment. Deposit and final payment rules vary; late payment may cause cancellation and penalties. Some cruise deposits are non-refundable.
C3. Group Cruises. Group space may have hold periods and minimums. Group amenities may depend on sailed cabins; cancellations can reduce benefits.
C4. Inclusions/Extras. Base fare typically includes accommodations and select dining/entertainment; many items cost extra (gratuities, excursions, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, alcohol, spa, transfers, insurance).
C5. Documents/Health. You are responsible for required passports/IDs/visas and cruise line health requirements (which may change).
C6. Itinerary Changes. Cruise lines may change ports/itineraries for weather or operational reasons without compensation.
19. Business Operating Entity Notice (Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC)
19.1 Operating Entity. Effective July 10, 2025, Travel with Makini operates under Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC. All existing terms, services, and client protections remain in effect. Fora affiliation, contact information, and professional certifications remain unchanged.
20. Miscellaneous Legal Terms
20.1 Amendments. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you accept/engage will apply to that engagement unless otherwise required by law.
20.2 Severability. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
20.3 No Third-Party Beneficiaries. Except as expressly stated regarding Fora and its affiliates in Sections 2 and 13, this Agreement is for the benefit of the parties only.
20.4 Entire Agreement. This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and Travel with Makini/Lawrence Bridge Consulting, LLC regarding advisory/booking services, subject to Supplier terms and any applicable Fora platform/payment terms.
21. Acceptance (Single Acceptance)
By clicking “I Agree,” signing electronically, proceeding with a booking after being provided access to these Terms, or making payment on any invoice/quote that references these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement, including the Fora waiver (Section 2) and the limitation of liability, release, and indemnity provisions (Section 13).
